As the demand for health knowledge increasingly permeates society, this minor prepares students to plan and evaluate health programs or design and teach community health in K-12 school settings. The plan builds awareness of the many connections between life habits and lifestyle and the health of our society.
The minor in Community Health provides a general preparation in basic health knowledge and processes. Select the concentration in health promotion for preparation in program planning and evaluation or the concentration in school health education for basic content and methods for teaching health in K-12 schools.
A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.
To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.

No more than fifty percent of the units used to satisfy minor requirements may be used to satisfy major requirements.
