What Can I Do with a Bachelor in Interdisciplinary Studies - Technology Management 90-30?

The Technology Management program is designed to provide you with a general knowledge of management, organizational, and policy issues impacting the field of IT management. Are you seeking opportunities to advance your career in and expand your knowledge of leadership and technology issues in the IT arena? This program can help.

This unique program allows you to transfer up to 90 credit hours from a regionally accredited community college and/or university, so you can maximize the impact of previous studies. You will gain a strong perspective of the structure, function, policies, and practices of IT management. The courses you take will enhance your understanding of management, decision making, and communication skills. You will graduate ready to move into management or administrative positions within the field.

Note: If you want to major in Interdisciplinary Studies-Technology Management, you must apply and be accepted to the Department of Business and Administration program in addition to being admitted to the university.

Purpose Statement

The purpose of the bachelor’s degrees with an emphasis in technology management are to provide successful graduates with organization, management and administrative coursework within an information technology (IT) context. They prepare the student for IT leadership roles by focusing on the organizational, policy and technology issues faced by many managers and supervisors within the fast-growing IT field. It is specifically designed for those students who have obtained technical background in the IT field from either an associate’s degree in a computer and/or information technology related field or a combination of an associate’s degree and/or professional experience. The program will add value by complimenting (not duplicating lower-level courses) the student’s technical experience with appropriate courses in the management of technology resources.
It is a degree designed for those students who seek advancement to a management and supervisory positions within a variety of computer and/or information technology related occupations. Students should be able to accept a position with leadership responsibilities to lead or manage technology projects, department, division or run a small-to-medium size IT related business.

The degree program seeks to be a leading provider of computer and/or information technology management education and related higher education with an emphasis on value and accessibility. The Technology Management online degree programs give students the freedom to complete course work at their existing location around their schedule and making it ideal for a busy lifestyle.
