Mathematics Secondary Education, Minor

Students in this minor deepen their mathematical knowledge and understanding, and also learn teaching methods.


What Can I Do with a Minor in Mathematics Secondary Education?

Do you love mathematics, enjoy solving mathematical problems, and teaching others? The Mathematics Secondary Education Minor might be perfect for you. This minor is a good supplement any major, especially if this is in secondary education. Note: If you want to minor in Mathematics Secondary Education, you must consult with one of the Mathematics and Statistics faculty members in addition to being admitted to the university.

University Requirements

  • A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.

    To receive a minor (18 to 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.
