The best managers understand and apply principles of effective decision-making, group dynamics, teamwork, leadership, communication, international culture, and more. By pursuing a degree in management at Northern Arizona University, you will build the necessary professional expertise to be an effective business leader.
Here, you will prepare for a career in general management that will prepare you for a career in management of a multitude of different firms. Courses emphasize leadership, group dynamics and teamwork, analytical problem solving, and creativity. You will also prepare to manage change in the international business arena.
To receive a bachelor's degree at Northern Arizona University, you must complete at least 120 units of credit that minimally includes a major, the liberal studies requirements, and university requirements as listed below.

Purpose Statement
“If you don’t understand people, you don’t understand business” - it’s that simple. BSBA management students will become skilled leaders that understand themselves and others and can manage change.
Management students will learn and develop leadership skills – the ability to understand, lead, manage, and motivate themselves and others.
Management students will learn and develop communication skills – the ability to leverage effective oral and written communication skills based on their situation, context and audience.
Management students will learn and develop teamwork skills – including effective collaboration, partnering and group dynamic skills and learn to build team culture.
Management students will learn and develop critical analysis skills – the ability to scan environments, identify opportunities, create innovative solutions, and make decisions.
Taken together, the skills described above prepare students to perform the managerial role within an organization with particular emphasis on preparing students for early career success.

Major Courses (21 units)
These courses represent the General Academic Requirements (GAR) for The W. A. Franke College of Business. Some of these courses also fulfill liberal studies requirements.
For information about the overlap between the GAR and liberal studies, consult an advisor in Room 222 of the college.
Additional coursework is required if, after you have met the previously described requirements, you have not yet completed a total of 120 units of credit.
You may take these remaining courses from any of the academic areas, using these courses to pursue your specific interests and goals. You may also use prerequisites or transfer credits as electives if they weren't used to meet major, minor, or liberal studies requirements.
