Purpose Statement

This masters program was designed for the registered nurse (RN) who desired to build a professional foundation of practice by exploring a selected emphasis relevant to his or her advancement goals. While not a specialty focus, this program allows the RN with a prior baccalaureate degree to continue to develop expertise.

This program meets the Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNE) Education Master of Science requirements for the foundation curriculum and competencies for graduate level nursing.

“This program will be in partnership with Dignity Health Global Education (DHGE). DHGE will help with instructional design and program delivery, in addition to marketing and student enrollment support. Marketing will take place through digital and social media channels and will incorporate nursing professionals from all healthcare organizations. NAU currently partners with DHGE for the MBA-Healthcare program. Spring 2023 was our first semester and we started with 36 students. Adding the MS in Nursing with different micro credentials will allow NAU to offer specialty areas tailored to today’s nurse managers.”
