Description: This course explores foundational and advanced principles and applied practices of healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management. The course examines how healthcare organizations measure, monitor, and improve performance to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care with an emphasis on systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, and the development of a culture of safety and accountability. Students will explore how diverse healthcare organizations identify system vulnerabilities, reduce harm, and enact continuous quality improvement. Letter grade only.
