TSM 623 - Curriculum And Evaluation


Description: TSM 623 is a 3-credit course that is part of the Education Core block of courses as part of the Mathematics Education and Science Education doctoral programs. This course provides students with an overview of historical and cultural contexts that have contributed to the development and implementation of curriculum theory in mathematics and science education. The course explores various contributing factors that have shaped definitions, conceptualization, and enactments of curriculum and evaluation, including an analysis of curricular and evaluative decision making on the classroom experience. The course concludes with an analysis of current curriculum and evaluation trends in light of historical and theoretical contexts. The readings and associated learning activities designed for this course are suitable for practicing teachers, other educational personnel, and graduate students. There are no pre-requisites for this course. Letter grade only.
