Biological Sciences
Description: This course is aimed at engaging students in a reading and discussion based exposition of the philosophical considerations behind core concepts and ideas in the biological sciences. The goal of the course is to raise student awareness and understanding of the intersections of biology and philosophy as they relate to major biological theories, such as the theory of biological evolution, and foundational biological concepts, such as the concept of biological species. Course participants should be prepared and able to read, digest and discuss primary and secondary source materials. Cross-listed with SCI 555. Letter grade only
