Merchandising
Description: This course enhances students' understanding of trend forecasting, a major function in merchandising businesses. Trend forecasters predict colors, fabrics, materials, and other styles that will be presented on the runway and in stores for upcoming seasons. The concept of trend forecasting applies to all levels of the merchandising industry including fashion, automobile, medicine, food and beverage, literature, and home furnishings. Students will learn the basic steps of understanding the vision of the business and profile of target consumers, collecting information about available merchandise, preparing information, determining trends, and choosing appropriate merchandise for the company and target consumers. Letter grade only.
