Description: This elective course is designed to be an opportunity for students to learn about and apply sociological concepts to popular films using content analysis. This course also focuses on developing critical visual thinking skills, gaining an awareness of social and cultural issues portrayed in films, and learning about the role of films in contemporary society. The course will provide each student various perspectives on how popular film consumption is linked to the field of sociology. Letter grade only.
