Description: This course introduces to students to the ways in which archaeological data derived from material culture and the environment are used to reconstruct prehistoric, or historic political, social, and economic relationships in regions of the Western Hemisphere. Each section will focus on a different area and/or time period in the Americas depending on the instructor's expertise. Areas may include but are not limited to the: Andes, Prehistoric American Southwest, Paleoindian time period, Historic American West, or Easter Island. Letter grade only. May be repeated for up to 6 units of credit
