PLD 390 - History Of (Dis)Ability


Description: The course examines the cultural and historical significance of (dis)ability in the United States from the Colonial Period through the present. The purpose of this course is to introduce intersectional analysis as a methodological tool for developing an understanding of the experiences and contributions of Americans with differing abilities and to understand some of the ways in which being differently abled intersects with other key subject positions such as socioeconomic status, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Letter grade only.
