Description: The purpose of Introduction to Nursing as a Profession and Discipline is to examine the nursing discipline from a caring perspective. This first semester course is a required foundation for all baccalaureate nursing students to explore the historical, ethical, theoretical, regulatory, and political contexts of the profession. The successful student will have developed a deeper appreciation and broader understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the professional nurse. Letter grade only.
