The Hotel Management Certificate prepares students for careers in full-service hotels and resorts. Students gain background information on the history and development of hotel and resort destinations and the daily aspects of managing more diverse food, beverage, and catering operations, as well as golf, spa, timeshare, and resort operations. Coursework provides students with professional preparation focusing on the concepts and principles in resort and spa operations; gaming and recreation; hotel group sales; and managing customer service.
At the completion of this of the certificate, students will be able to identify and apply effective managerial skills and functions associated with hotel and resort management; explain how various organizational elements work together to promote the successful delivery of products and services in hotel and resort settings; use hotel sales training skills; describe lines of communication between casino management and all other operational areas of the hotel/resort; and discuss club and spa amenities.
Students who earn this certificate will gain more in-depth management and operational skills and practical tools that will assist them in dealing with situations within hotel and resort environments.
